Life of intake cone air filter

Just wondering, how many miles will the k&n air filter last with the frankencar intake? I've only had it for 3000 miles and it seems very dirty.
Thanks!

Excel oil causes it, that and the weak MAF that we have.

K&N's already come pre-oiled from the factory anyway, even OEM Nissan filters are oiled - so you can't be doing any worse washing and re-oiling it.

Keep using that K&N crap and you will be buying a new air flow meter before you know it.

I've had a K&N on my other car for 130,000 miles and its been great. I also have one on my max for about 20,000 miles. No problem I clean it about every 20,000 miles.

The first time I oiled my K&N, i over oiled it so bad I thought I had a tranny leak because of all the red oil under my car....but no problems!

I love K&N and will never buy another brand of filter...

What type of filter do you use on your intake?
