Glass making squeaking noise

My driver glass is making a squeaking noise everytime I lower and raise the glass. The Nissan service Dept told me it was because of the tint. However I have another maxima (97) that has been tinted since then and I do not have that problem. What do you guys think and is there a TSB on this.

i think there was a tsb on it but most people here just use silicone spray down the the track to quiet it down. i took my car in for warping rotors and mentioned they were squeaking and sticking at times. they cleaned and regreased the track and i have not had any problems for about 9 months. ive got thicker tint on mine and they do seem to roll up slower compared with no tint but at least it doesnt squeak anymore.

Hey, does Silicone spray hurt the rubber weatherstripping? (hope not) 'cause I wiped down all my weatherstripping with it the other day...

I tried the silicone thing. It worked for a short time and the problem returned. I wanted Nissan aware of the problem because I do not want for the window to pop off the track later on and they hold me responsible. I have extened warranty and I have no time to play with this car.

BTW I am sure happy that I have a 2k1, saw three guys this weekend without lights.

There is a TSB on this issue, number 01-054 issued August '01 and entitled "Window Glass (Front Door) - Squeak/Squeal Noise." I could be wrong, but I think all it recommended was to clean the glass area and apply the silicone spray.

You can actually buy Nissan-branded silicone spray cans at your local Nissan service department.

I have that problem mainly with my driver side front window, but it happens with the passenger side too. I've been living with that sound since it started a long time ago since it's no big deal to me...and it makes for a joke now and then with others who may ride in the car.

Cheap method
1.Use 70%~99% Alcohol to clean the rubber area
2.use the Alcohol to wipe the interior window
