Just installed frankencar...

took me a little longer than expected but I got it done... I still have to put the ATS in the midpipe because it was too dark to see that damn wire loom to cut it open and lengthen the wire...would not having it in for liek a day hurt anything? Im gonna put it in tomorrow... anyways that bolt by the battery took me FOREVER to get off on the stock air box, jeez i need an extension for that socket wrench... and then getting the maf out of the part between the maf and the throttle body took forever too, needed some good force to get that thing off but everything else pretty much went smoothely, even in the partial dark i managed to install it. when i floor that thing though it is awesome! I love the sound so much and the whistle at about 2K RPMs is pretty sweet too... Im very satisfied with the intake so far, except I didnt get any stickers...

you can keep the sensor in the scoop if you want, just make to plug up or tape up the hole in the midpipe. if you plan to keep the scoop then i would just plug the hole in the midpipe up. it keeps that wire from sitting there and looks cleaner to me. i cut my originally but put it back in the scoop.

does the scoop have any advantage in regards to performance?

i wont say there is a performance difference, but my car pulls better with the stock scoop and a heat resistant tube leading under the filter than with the scoop. off. ive done obd2 tests using the air temp sensor in the midpipe and there are cooler temps than without the scoop. thats enough for me to believe it does drawl cooler air over the grill.

ok cool, i think i'll just plug up the hole and not even bother with lengthening that damn cord... I really love this intake, I took the car out for a spirited drive at around 1 last night and the expressway was empty, awesomeness! I went to sleep with a smile on my face, best 130 bucks ive spent in a while...

Try the Group Deal Forum. I don't know if it's still available, but you can try. Frankencar has a link on one of the pages that takes you to there site and shows the group price. That's where mine (not installed yet). Good luck ...

you shoudlnt have a problem with it since youve got a 2k. most of the early and middle build 2k2 have the crappy mafs. just use care when handling it and you should be fine.
