in my 2k gle, i have found to my suprise a skinny white stretchable string that is coming out of the door panel. it is like right at the end near the door hinge... what is that??? i cant push the string back in, and it only keeps coming out... what can i do cause i have no idea what the string is!!!

I found this last week too. I was going to ask the service rep when they get the parts in for the TCM valve replacement, but they haven't come in yet. Anyone know what the elastic string is?

 

But they are all (but one since I've yet to get tweezers to catch it) gone. They're strings that kept the plastic covering over the entire interior intact. If you noticed (for some, probably not all) if the guys at the dealer did a rush job of removing it all, you'll even find some plastic pieces that aren't removed. It was just a means of keeping the covering down and covered while the car is in transport and before it's purchased. Don't worry yourself about it, it's nothing

 

I think I had it too....It eventually came off....Like Oiprocs mentioned....it's just for the plastic the car came with.

 

ooh, okok thanks pple... me thought it might have been something important... but since its not important, i guess i can just wait till it all comes out
