Why are Maxspeeds so cheap?

Just wondering why these springs are so cheap when compared to such springs as Eibach, H&R, and even Teins. They seem to drop lower than Eibach and H&R and people say that they are high quality, but they are pretty damn cheap. I am asking because I am once again in the process of deciding which springs to get, and the Maxspeeds drop nicely (not too slammed) and keep most of the ride quality that comes with a stock SE suspension. But why are they so damn cheap?

IMHO, you get what you pay for.

That's what I'm thinking.. I take a while to make a decision on buying anything, mostly because I look for the best thing I can afford. I can definitely afford the Maxspeeds, but is there a more "tried and true" spring with a similar drop and similar ride quality out there? Maybe H&R?

I have maxspeeds...they seem to work fine.

I've had BBK and eibachs on my other cars....and I can't tell the difference.

I wouldn't mind a little more drop though, looks like Tein have the best.

Haven't had a problem with mine either, price and value are different things. If I price a coke at 4 bucks you might think that's better too... Listen to what folks say and decide, all there is to it

How about Progress and Sprint? How come they don't seem to be as popular with the org?

I'm not sure why Sprint springs aren't popular. I will recommend these springs all day long. 85% of our local customers all ride on Sprint springs. I have these on my car, Alex has them on his Altima, I can't say enough about Sprints.

How's the ride with the Sprints? Feel every bump, or just the big ones? Do you bounce up and down on the freeway? Got a good pic of the drop? Thanks much.

I use Maxpeeds the price fits in well with my Budget Exhaust system. Guess I am not into popularity.

Springs are just metal coils. I would ask why is everyone else ripping us off?? You pay a premium for name brands like eibach.

I think maxspeeds and H&R are about the same for ride and heights.

Sprints seem to ride rougher but drop lower.

Dr.

those rims are sweet...

are they lightweight? or just for looks?

If I spend some money on some rims, I want them to give my car something more than just looks....like better performance.

how much were they? 18's I presume....right?

thanks

They're the Stillen 18x8 made by enkei in japan. I'd hope they're more than just for looks...they have a 2 peice design, but they're welded... I'm not sure of the weight, but they're lighter than the 17's that came with the car...not super light like a volk tho...You'll see them in the stillen catalog on the altima.
here's another pic or two...

Don't fret over the second pic, the car is fixed...

I love my Maxspeeds. The ride height could be a little lower but overall they are very impressive for the $126 I paid for them. I cannot think of a better set of springs for this amount of money.

Don't know about you guys, but NC has potholes. Pioneer has Teins on his car (2k2 6spd) and he says he fills every little bump and crack in the road. He had H&R's before so the Teins are a dramatic change for him.

I have Maxspeeds...they are awesome...i just wish they would make my car a little lower...
I have no problem with them..
Just because something is cheap that doesn't mean its cheap
Why do ppl assume that if somthing is cheap that just means its crap...

I have Maxspeeds and love them. Paired with KYB GR2 shock it makes for a great street suspension!

that's rite, maxspeeds and h&r's have the same spec. my friend's uncle owns golden apple and he used my car to prototype the springs on. i've had them on my car for the longest time and haven't had any problems with it sagging. ride quality is tolerable and the drop is nice too. i think it's cheaper because it's made in taiwan and it's not a huge brand. however springs aren't as simple as you may think. the manufacturing proccess does determine the quality of the spring. if the metal isn't proccessed correctly it'll either snap or sag. i'm not sure if any of you here have seen a spring snap, but i have and it was some cheapo brand spring (i forgot the name). and i've had problems working with intrax in the past (not sure if they got any better), but i installed them on an accord about 6 years ago, and it started sagging like crazy. those springs had to be replaced within' a year because it sagged so much that the struts just bottomed out.
if you are more performance oriented, go for eibachs, their springs are stiffer. if you want more of looks, decent performane and a lil comfort and affordabilty, go with maxspeed.

i dont' have them on my car anymore because i got the JIC FLT-A2 coil overs. i got those not because i wasn't saticefied with the maxspeeds. i got em' because i needed something that is adjustable because of the extra weight i added in the trunk, and also cuz they're pimp.

Because sprint springs are down right abusive to ride on. I changed to Maxspeeds and have been happy. I think that part of the reason Maxspeeds are cheaper is because they are not a big name. The only negative thing I can say about them is that they are painted bright yellow and the paint chips easily. I am very happy and they compare very well with my buddies H&Rs.
