"Service Engine Soon" comes on and then went off?!?
I recently bought a 2000 Maxima SE. The Service Engine Soon light went on when I turned the car on. Then I drove it to the dealership, turned off my car and turned the car on again to show the mechanic and it was off. He told me that he couldn't do anything until the light went bac on. Does anyone know why it does that?
I can't believe the amount of problems I am having with this car. First, I parked my car in an outdoor garage and when I get bac my windsheild is cracked and then the dealer tells me its going to be over a thousand dollars to fix it. Then while driving my car, my cd gets stuck in the car stereo. Pressing the buttons doesn't seem to work. I have the worse luck in the world.

the ses light could have been just random. if it didnt stay on long and didnt hurt the performance then i really wouldnt worry about it. as far as having bad luck, i think that we all a at least one or two horror stories that we could tell... goes with the territory.
also, unless it's for warrenty work, i would stay away from the dealer. If you can find someone else who is qualified, you will save alot of money and hassle.
