Has anybody ever installed a Pre-Luber?
I just bought an '02 Maxima and I am very VERY happy with it. However, I want her to last for a very long time.
My previous car was a '96 Mitsu Galant. She's got 173k miles on her and still runs good.
A few months ago I was surfing on the net and found a site for a product called the Pre-Luber. Its supposed to eliminate engine wear from dry starts by delivering oil to the oil system before you turn the key. They claim that somethink like 80-90% of engine wear happens in the first few seconds that you start your car. Now, I realize, they probably don't add the extra wear and tear that you guys put on your cars with Nitrous and drag racing. All that being said, does anyone have an opinion. I'm thinking about bying one of these and installing it very soon.

I'm new to the Maxima.org site and I like what I see so far.
Thanks,

Save your money and buy an intake or something. Just use Mobil 1 and change your oil often and you should get a lot of miles out of your engine. I have a chevy truck that I've been using Mobile 1 in since I bought it and I have over 150,000 miles on it and it's still going strong.

I think it's an interesting idea. But I've seen simplier devices. The one I'm thinking of just uses an accumulator to store some oil/pressure. Before you start the car you release the accumulator valve and it brings the oil pressure up before you start. Alot less moving parts and no pump to deal with. No turbo cool down feature though
