i was hoping to put a switch inside my cabin so i can jus turn it off when i want.. and for normal driving... have it back connected.... there were a couple people that have done that.. but as i am an electric newbie.. i dont kno the first thing about how to do it....

I haven't done this but I think all you need is a SPST NC switch (single pole single throw, normally closed, 2 or 3 contacts, if 3, the 3rd is usually not connected).
SPST NC: A___B
when pressed: A_/_B
Then cut only one wire going to the drop resistor. Attach one cut side to side A of switch and the other cut wire to side B. A WOT switch is probably best for this because it will only switch in at WOT and out otherwise.
hope that helps
