I want a CAI, but I don't want to drill a whole on my fender, so I got Injen.

P.S. it may or may not be a "CAI" but that really is depending on opinion of people. To me it is, and it looks very Nice~ You decide what you want.

I have a place racing from cattman. I really like it. Removing the battery and cutting the hole with a hole saw is no big deal. They give you a nice plastic edging to surround the hole.
IMHO a true cold air unit is what you want.

because it still sits inside the engine bay so at idle it's sucking engine-warmed air... but it's the next best thing to cutting a hole in your car.

I have injen as well and like the sound..stock under 4k rpm, nice but not too loud above 4k rpm

wrong... I can't find it but the injen did NOT win...same guy, same car, 3 different intakes with real numbers. I actually think the oscai won but like I said I can't find the results

Injen is an warm air intake, place racing is a true cold air intake and the oscai-ooglie stock cold air intake is the hardwear store one right?

are we reading the same link? Because that ways WAI won. Injen is NOT the WAI he tested...the one he had was closer to frankencar than injen. Injen gets air from under the engine but still in the engine bay so it's neither WAI or CAI but somewhere in between.

so you're wrong... injen did not win that test.

OK I thought the injen was the same style as the ones that have the filter behind the battery, my bad

nope, injen is under the battery, just to the side of the radiator fan. at idle is sucks engine air but at any speed it draws "cold/cool/whatever" air from under the car. That might be why injen didn't show much of an advantage over the other WAI... because dynos are done without the car moving so it still just sucks engine air.

nice find on that link though, THANKS!

i understand what ur saying about the injen being a wai....but i went onto custommaxima and they are saying that it is a cai...they even claim that there is around a 14hp gain while the place racing had gains of 12-13....injen also provides a dyno print out...http://www.custommaxima.com/images/Injen/2002Dyno.jpg...
sorry i couldnt send a direct link....also wouldnt the heat shield eliminate most of the excess warm air?
