2002 Bose System
2002 Bose System
Hello...just have a simple question. I read about the TSB regarding the BOSE System cutting off when playing CD. This is happening to me currently. My question is would the dealer change my radio even if my car is already out of warranty. I got my Max a month ago and the warranty already expired since my mileage is 42,000K. Or does it have to be still in warranty for the dealer to replace the radio...Thanks in advance.

Ha, i've been dealing with Nissan NA direct on this one. Mine has 38,500 miles on it and it just started. I think I may be getting a new radio, i'll let you all know. Hey isn't it great listening to CD's in mono or no words. Chris
Nissan said NO, I was ****ed and went off on the dumb *** at Nissan. My dealer is going to see what they can do. Nissan said that they already replaced the trans under "good will" I only get 1 good will per car. WTF, I pay extra for a radio that doesn't work. Nissan also said that the trans isn't covered under powertrain. This is my last Nissan, period.
For you guys out of warranty (like me):
I'm on my second head unit, but it's acting up again and it barely lasted a year, and now I'm out of the warranty period. Here's what I've been able to find out....
The dealer will send the radio to be fixed for $400. That includes a one year warranty.
I called Nissan Customer service, and they said I am beat as far as a free repair.
Spoke to Clarion... They will fix problem for $110, but only warranty unit for 90 DAYS.
BTW... The repair will take 2 to 3 weeks without shipping time back and forth to California (no radio for about a Month).
What a hassle!!! I'll never buy a Nissan again. I can't believe this is how they treat the customers who bought their FLAGSHIP MODEL!!!

I was orginally told no with mine. I went on a rant in the service dept. about how I paid extra for a radio with fewer working speakers. It took about a month, but the did come through and replace it. Now I have to see how long it lasts......
This is great, it sure is nice to know i'm not the only one with a problem and also that i'm not the only one acting this way. I know how it will go, i'll end up buying something new, used, or even aftermarket. I think what i'm going to do is buy an 01 Bose headunit. All I lose is the 6-disc, something I don't use anyway. Yup, my last Nissan as well. I talked to Nissan, they can care less about any of the owners. Chris
