I get over 300 mpg even when I do drive like a wild a**

First of all it sucked to by the 2K1 and the next year the Maxima came out with a 255 HP 3.5 V6 and HID's.

Second as it is well documented the Nissan paint absolutely sucks.

Third I can't believe more Camry's sell then Maxima's! What are people thinking. Maxima will kick the Camry's A**

Maxima's rule

Fourth the stock wheel gap is horrific. This is not Grandpa's car (like the Camry!)

Fifth I would like to have the quality put into my car like the Infiniti, but with the Nissan look.

I am off my soapbox now!!! ~Spooni

I would like to see my car actually APPRECIATE, rather than DEPRECIATE so quickly. Even though I have a 2000, I see 2002's and even some 2003's go for as much as I bought mine a while back. I just don't see how such a great car can lose so much value over such a short period of time. I guess I can trade my max in and get a neon or something since they're probably worth the same...

Hey, what's wrong with the paint? My seems to be OK so far (I have an early 2000 Max). Just a few normal chips and scratches. Anybody's paint coat starting to peel or look really bad??

Since I bought the car with full knowledge it was FWD, RWD drive is not a big deal, although I would prefer it.

1) IRS, have you ever been over a real bad washboard surface?
2) Less road and wind noise
3) Better paint

More Camrys sell than Maximas because they can be all things to all people. You can get a Camry that's a 4 banger with wheel covers to one that is loaded up with V6, leather, sunroof, etc. Yes, they are boring, but if someone is looking for decent basic transportation that has quality and low depreciation, its a good choice. Better than any GM POS.

The one thing I would change is the mother %&@#$ turning radius!!!
My 75 Ford F-100 long bed turns tighter then my Maxima.

The second thing I would change if I was Nissan is the tires. The RE92's are not a great combo for this suspension set up. If they are going to go with Brigestone, they should go with the Potenza SO-3 Pole Position's. Those are some sweet tires. They are quite, they have incredable grip, when driving in the rain they feel as stable as you're drive in the dry and you can even drive through standing water at speed and live to tell about it! The SO-3's are awesome tires and the RE92's give Bridgestone a bad name.

2) Wish I could have fuel consumption of my old Camry (okay, I now I'm stretching it here, but you asked). This thing swallows 93 oct like a peta.
My previous car was a '96 T-bird with the V8. That car didn't handle nearly as well as my '02 SE, but I could whip into parking spots perfectly anytime. I feel like a total gimp taking two tries to get into a spot sometimes... argh.

Also, that car was RWD and I've seen many people wish their Maximas were RWD. I do miss RWD for the ability to powerslide through turns and do donuts when U-turn space is tight (brake torques were fun too), but living in the Chicago area with snow, the FWD definitely has its advantages. My car always gets plowed in on the street (snow up to side windows) and trying to get out of that with RWD isn't fun (my T-bird had traction assist and it didn't matter). The FWD Maxima plows right out and it's great (don't get me started about the Craptenza tires).

As far as mileage is concerned - this car's mileage is great! You just have to take it easy on the pedal! If you goose it every once and a while it isn't too bad. If you floor it up to the speed limit everytime, I think any car will get bad mileage. My T-bird with the 4.6L V8 had about 225 hp only (285 tq) with the CAI and cat-back exhaust and I honestly would be getting about 15mpg around town. Mid-low 20s on the highway. The Maxima has more power, it's faster and gets closer to 20mpg around town..... I'm about the last person to complain about mileage.

Own a crap-box and then own a Maxima - you'll have much less to complain about!!

Oh yeah - the completely clear (no tint) moonroof sucks too!

1) Door Armrests that are Flat, wider, level, cussioned
2) Center Armrests that attach to each seat
3) Trip Computer readout that's larger, and displays only DTE, MPG, and Temp
4) Radio w/ sooner crossover to tweeter (trebble)
