Just heard Exhaust on Honda Accord.....

Okay so I'm walking around campus and an Accord pulls up to the stop sign. Taking off from a complete stop and down the road it was the quietest deepest exhause I've ever heard. It was the V6 with dual aftermarket mufflers. I was just amazed of how quiet it really was. I'm just thinking back to when I had the powertech and that thing was the worst sounding exhaust. I'm wondering when other org members say they have a quiet exhaust if they're referering to something like that because I'll buy another aftermarket muffler if I can get a sound like that. I'm not a fan of exhaust noise that can be heard way down the road. Do you guys think it was the mufflers or do you think he had huge resonators under there? I'm happy with my extra growl I have with the budget b-pipe and soon will have the cattman y-pipe, but I don't think I could get anything as low sounding as that Accord. What do you guys think?

Sorry man, not interested. I'm going to hear my next exhaust in person maybe at a meet somewhere before I purchase anything.

I'll let you know man. I think they're are backorder until tomorrow is what I was told last Friday, but she did say there may still be one left for me. Hopefully that one was left and it was already shipped out so by Saturday I'll have it on. My friend has a way of recording sound on his camera, but it will be almost 3 weeks before I see him again.

The 00 Accord I drive right now has a 2.5" catback with dual mufflers. Its a very deep sound, especially once the revs are around 2,200-2,500 rpms. It doesn't growl or rumble, its just a smooth deep rasp. It sounds sweet and it flat out wails once VTEC kicks in.

How big is your resonator? I have a magnaflow resonator and with the Powertech muffler it sounded horrible, but Hayame is a much better quality muff.

I have a friend with a 98 V6 Accord. He bought new bolt on, straight through, axle back mufflers that did not fit. Since we had already taken off the stock mufflers (and did not want to put them back on) we decided to drive it around with no mufflers. The car (with no axle back mufflers may I remind you) sounds no louder than stock, just much deeper. The Accord uses another muffler (resonator if you will that looks like a cat/muffler) which keeps the exhaust quiet. He intalled universal mufflers, and IMO sound great, as I said not loud just a deep mellow tone. The intake BTW is way louder than the exhaust (and the intake is quiet IMO).
