One of my PIAA SW H3s finally died!

Took around 2-2.5yrs. and 20K miles. NOT too bad. I RELIGIOUSLY kept the fogs off before starting the car, since lots of people started complaining about them dying in a couple months. Probably within the last 3-4 months, I've gotten lazy and didn't care. Last night, while replacing my RICE blue $2 Autozone wedge bulbs in the headlamps, since they've turned PINK, I found one dead.

Oh well, I think I'm going to try PIAA Extreme this next round. Just thought I'd re-affirm that PIAAs don't "ALWAYS" blow if you try and keep from power spiking them at startup AND/OR don't get finger oils on them.

My Piaa Super Plasma H4 just died yesterday and it lasted 2 year. Quite happy with the quality.

Going to purchase a new set of Super Plasma-GTX H4, Has anyone had this on their Max?

Doesn't it make sense to spend more money and get better bulbs like Philips sylvannia... I think they come with 5 year warranty if I am not mistaken.

Little things like these will end up costing a lot if they start crappin out within 1 year...

Do you guys sell PIAA? If so, shoot me some prices on the bulbs I need, ie H3, 9005, 194, etc..

Thanks.

As for the fog, one thing caught my eye about your post Alex...what is the reason of keeping the fogs off when you 1st start the car. Im sure there is a reasonable expliantion for it just like finding a way around the damn auto light feature Ive just never heard of that be4.

Problem?

Supposedly, ie haven't verified with MM, when you start the car the electrical system voltage spikes. Now if you have the lights in AUTO position with the fogs on, they automatically turn on during this spike. Apparently, high wattage bulbs are more sensitive to this increased voltage spike compared to normal halogens.

Whether it's true or not, I haven't verified. Should have, but haven't thought about it when I had a MM handy.

the xtreme whites arent bad with the stock 2002-2003 HIDS, just wondering, is the super plasma ones nicer? I actually want to change them, because im thinking about Juice's H3 Xeno Conversion Kit.....

(and also, the polarg m4 194 bulbs work nice with the clear sides, and interior.... brings out the blueish tiny color....)

I LOVE'em. Great mix of white and yellow. I have the "Metal Thunder HID" rated at 5700k?>I'm not sure. I like them better than the xtreme whites. Peace_
