I'm curious to know how many of you converted based on the "255hp Nissan marketing". Just a hunch.
Didn't trade a thing in for it, just needed a 4 door vehicle for more family duties. The Nissan dealer was giving the best deal on the car, compared to other models we drove in the price range, and treated us well. It will probably be our first and last Nissan, though, as the paint on this vehicle leaves a LOT to desire and the NAV system was a pure and simple rip off(paid less option price for our Escalade's nav and that one is DVD based and covers the entire US and Canada with greater detail in EVERY city/town we have been to in both vehicles).

I will say the horse/torque of this vehicle was a very nice deal for the vehicles we looked at(trying to stay less than 30K on this), as none of the makers you mention has anything comparable for the money(we paid 27.5K for our fully loaded Max). My Mom's Toyota Avalon is a total RIP OFF in comparison(no power, less options--standard and optioned, they paid more).

97 BMW 328is. It was too small inside. Family needed something more roomy for traveling. I also didn't like the daily highway challenges. It was red with the sport pkg.... aggressive looking car. They are cool though, good build quality, suprisingly good fuel economy, and nothing drives like it. I'll probably buy another one some day.

2002 TL-P. 1000000000% hp marketing...225<255 (though I wonder what it'd be like to have a TL-S )

Still love the power and torque (mods should make up for the 15hp) and handling, but wish we had a better TURNING RADIUS!!!!

1993 Camaro Z28.....loved my car when it wasn't down....which was about once a month!

I narrowed my search down to Audi A4, Lexus GS300, IS300 or Chevy Tahoe.....i always wanted a Maxima....but for the year, price and amenities i was sold. The 255hp was a much VERY welcomed surprise!

'93 GXE ran it into the ground 170k miles, tranny blew.

After 6 months of looking I found an '03 SE Ti fully loaded with everything but the Nav system.

Before the Max? a 94 Toyota Supra TT 6 speed.
It was a GREAT car! Fast as hell, solidly built, and beautiful. Mine was black on black and I called it the Batmobile. Did I mention it was fast?
But it had to go. See I got a promotion at work and started driving about 100 miles a day. Plus I needed more room, occasionally taking clients out. And a 7 year old car has things that start to go wrong with it. So I gave it up for adoption...and made a sh*tload of money on the sale. I bought a bulls*it Chevy Malibu. BORING. I kept it only 2 months. I needed the space, but the Supra had ruined me. I needed the speed too. I went with the Max because it offered a good blend of performance, room, and an extended warranty. I bought the 2k Max in 2k1 from a guy who was going to trade it on an Expedtion. He only had it 8 months. Not a bad price either; wouldn't go broke doing mods. As much as I complain about the build quality, the Max has never let me down. That extra space comes in handy too.

Welp first car was a '93 Eclipse GS 5 speed, great car for high school... then I totaled that and the parents were ****ED so I was punished by driving around a Ford Escort GT 5 speed which SUCKED! Then I graduated and was just about to buy an IS300 but then I went for the the '02 Max SE
Very pleased with the car, the only thing wrong is the floaty suspension and the PAINTCHIPS!

87 Porsche 944 Turbo loved it fast & the best handling car I have ever drivin but blew 3 headgaskets in 2 years
had a baby & needed a 4 door thought of a 97-98 4dr m3 but couldnt justify the same price for a 100k car to a 20k car 4 years newer the 6spd is nice if it was rear wheel drive It would be great. & wife had a 92 se 5spd when we met she sold it at 140k still had orig clutch only things I did were brakes & cv axles.
still have my 89 Mustang gt convt 190k 5spd & still going strong after 14years

I started with a used 86 Toyota corolla. Sold with 50 K
Saved money, bought a used 88 Toyota pickup, 33's 3"inch lift, air horns, awesome. Sold with 120K
then I bought my first new car, 97 Honda civic (TOTALLY RICED). It was a great handiling car, I threw in an Eibach pro kit, Koni adjustable yellow, Neuspeed front and rear strut tower braces (rear one made the car less neutral, took it out after some testnig), rear lower anti sway bar, intake, exhaust, HKS ignition, Wings west, aggressor front end, painted side skirts, and Tsunami rear valence, 16" konig GTR's, Honda Del Sol seats (AWESOME). I knew it had no GO, so I went for suspension, and man did that car handle. Went to boston to visit a friend and to go baording. Came back car was gone. IT was found in a field in the rough side of town, totally stripped.
Was stuck to get a new car ASAP, collected the insurance money on it, and went shopping.
WRX- quick, but not fast. Small, no fold down rear seats. Cheesy interior. Bashed my head getting into the car (only 5'10").
Acura CL type S- too blah...
Honda accord V6 coupe- no 5 speed.
I then went in looking at the altima 3.5, and hated the pod guages, looked cheesy. Went into the Max and thought hmm maybe.
Couldn't get teh car I wanted, blue, 6speed cloth with heated seates, so I settled for a black/black, loaded no nav, 6spd.

Headlights stolen last week. !@#$%@#$^&%#@$%#$%#@$%#$%^$%^%@#
Only regret is the headlights.
