Ride Height

Does anyone have before and after pictures of a 2k+ Maxima with Eibach Pro-Kit springs? I’m looking at the difference made to get the front and back wheel well gap closer.

Got the front strut bar and stillen pop charger today! Going to put them on this weekend.

Thanks,
Dave StreetMAX

Y2kKevSE,

Is this your car before the springs

http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~chin/...ima/kit/6b.jpg

And this after?

http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~chin/...ma/kit4/5a.jpg

I'm just trying to find some side shots to compare.

Thanks

I believe so... but the Yahoo Photos are better for comparison.

Thanks,

The one thing I really want out of these lowering springs is to make the front end to look like the same wheel well gap as the rear. From the factory it looks like the front of the car is jacked up! So those side pictures really let me get a good look at the front vs rear gaps.

I have noticed that with either the H&R's or the Eibach's, the front looks higher than the back. Is there any way to level the out and create the same wheel well gap on both front and back?

ouch, that was the main reason I was going to do it!

I wonder why they don't "fix" this problem?

The front and rear wheel arches are diffrent heights. If you measure the bottom of the car from front to rear it will be very close but the gap in the arches are smaller on the rear than the front because of the body style not the height. The spring companies don't "fix" the problem because it the cosmetics of the vehicle not a problem. If they were to bring down the front they would be sacrificing wheel travel and control for looks. You could get the springs and take a 1/4 off the front spring but I do not recommend it. If you want fully adjustable ride height go with a coil over suspension, they are a little much for the street but a great setup.

Just get the front eibachs... leave the rear stock!! Haha umm.. coilovers oughtta let you adjust the heights individually. Talk with mr burner to see how that cattman project is coming. They'll only cost about $1700...

Ride Height etc.

While on this topic, is it just me or has anyone else noticed the rear wheels track? The rear wheels look like they are in too much. It seems even on the new Q45 that Nissan places it's rear wheels to far in. I was thinking of putting spacers all around to pull them out a little. Any comments??

They actually are in more than the front. A 5 or 10mm spacer should do the trick. I haven't done much research and therefore don't know where to get them from, but I will certainly install them on my car once I do find them. I imagine that they are fairly cheap.

Maxima Squat!

Yeah, every maxima owner i know complains about this problem, my friend (Maxed Bandit 4th gen) cut his front eibachs about half a coil and it fixed the problem. His car looks GREAT. I've ridden in his car and the ride was not affected at all, he's on eibachs and koni's..
here's a pic

Hey Chinkzilla, I'm interested in your friend with the pearl GXE/GLE. Are the springs modified for his car. The ride height looks even for the front and back. It is the only 5th gen I have seen like this. More information, please?

Re: Re: Maxima Squat!

That's Irvine78, I asked him and he sez that those are stock eibachs, no cutting or anything. I'm not sure if it looks even in person or if it's just the angle of the photo.
I'll let you know if i have a problem when i put the uncut eibachs in my car on monday.

yeah...thats what eibachs do...they lower the front 1.3" and the rear 1" (somewhere really close to those #s)...they lower the rear more...on some cars this looks weird (since most eibachs are like this) but it fits really well on the max...they ride pretty harsh, but not too much worse than the stock se springs...the ride isn't much worse than the stock se springs but the turning is much better...checkout my webpage for some pics of my car before the body kit and you can probably find some of the side w/ the eibachs

That would be great, Chinkzilla. I'd be really interested in some side shots before and after the change. Are you doing new shocks/struts?

Thanks

ride height

No, I'm not doing struts yet, i'm hoping to get the koni adjustables, but i'm not quite sure that they'll fit in the 5th gens, so, as i save up the cash for them i'll keep trying to find out. As soon as I get my digital camera working again (lost the software, kodak anyone got a copy?) I'll post some pics.
