You might be able to work something out with your service manager, but it will not be because they are covered.

Actually It's an emission item. And according to Nissan is covered until 52,000.

Catalytic converter and Engine control module/onboard diagnostic device are all that are listed in the "Long Term Federal Emission Parts covered for 96 months or 80,000 miles."
Coils are not covered under anything but 3 year 36k miles. Sorry. I wish it were otherwise.

Some A hole named David Minor at NNA who i would choke if I could get my hands on him.
Absolutely not. I checked with at least one dealer recently and called up Nissan. Course, I'd read everywhere here that 3/36 is the only thing to change coils, but I wanted to check myself. You can also waste time, like I did, if you want. But seriously if you're out of the 3/36 you're paying for the coils.

One thing I learned about Nissan is that their warranty is useless. I had 20,000 miles on my car when the rotors warped. My Nissan dealer said that those are covered under the 12,000 mile adjustment warranty. After having the rotors turned twice and then finally replacing the rotors, I found the TSB that states that Nissan will cover them up to the 3/36 mile warranty. I still ended up paying for them with no reimursement. Bottom line, Nissans warranty is like haveing no warranty at all. period! I know one thing I'll never buy another Nissan produsct as long as I live, I don't even think I would take one if they gave it to me. By far, they have the worst customer service of anyone I have ever delt with.

I've written a letter to Nissan to try and get some money back for my coils because IMO the GROSS number of failures of these in 00s is such that nissan should cover them. I won't hold my breath, however.
