SES Light turned off, WTF?

I had an SES light a week after an accident and put the car in the shop for a week. Picked it up to get a 4-wheel alignment and the SES is off?? What gives? Should I expect to see this again? I'm at 58k and I thought there was a 60K warranty on possible emissions problems?

Did it go out by itself or did the shop reset it?

most emission parts such as the cat are covered 8yr/80k miles. the shop most likely reset the light but i would call to ask them what the code was. if they turned off the light but did not repair the problem then the ecu will cycle the code out again.

I asked the body shop and they said they didn't reset it. I also asked did they disconnect the battery for any reason in which they said they didn't.

It may be just an intermittent problem. It will probably come back on at some point when it detects the same conditions. You can get someone to scan your ECM for trouble codes to maybe find out what is stored in the computer.

I've had my SES go on several times due to the drop resistor mod, and it has turned itself off after several days as well. Don't know why, but it has happened numerous times. Maybe the ECu realizes that nothing is wrong after a little while and "resets" itself
