Do you know any mechanics?
Anyone here know any mechanics who knows how to install the 2001 AE or non AE lights on to 2002-03 maximas? Preferrably in NY or NJ area... I just can't risk another claim with Geico if it happens to me again. I read about the gap post and I think I can live with it with some kinda of rubber seal.
Firebirdss, do you mean that I don't need to purchase the 2001 harness kit from Nissan? Or the 2001 signal sockets = 2001 harness kit? BTW, did you get aftermartket '01 lights or the OE's from Nissan? Cause I saw coulple of '01 AE and non AE aftermarket headlights and I am not sure if they are relaible or not. Thanks for your info!
I surprise that Geico haven't drop you yet. most of my friends has Geico because it cheap, But, they you drop like instant when you have a caim. in end you either won't have insurance or you have to pay alot to get insure. BETTER watch out. Any body shop can do it ? like the carrage house right by Fresh Meadows line
Harness
if you refering to the $1200 harness that nissan wants to sell you no you don't kneed it the sockets probably can be found in a junk yard or maybe generic once can't be more then $20.
I got the lights from http://www.southwestautoworks.com/ they were 300 i belive the original ,you need one h4 (H4UPGHARN) pigtail I think it's 14.95 for 2 ,the harness is a painless wiring unit about 100 or so probably can be found, made cheaper but I like the quality , uses hella relays and 14 gauge wiring,(#30815 - For H-4 halogen lights) plus it's good for 150 watt, the lower headlight clip is about $5 per side and the turn signals pigtail/socket I haven’t been able to find yet, (by the way if anyone knows where to get them please help) probably junk yard, as you also need one 12 volt relay to be able to hook up your high beams cause the 2003 uses a ground supply system on the high beams. later I will look at exactly which wires to splice don't remember right no but it really is not difficult takes about 6 hours including drilling out the broken bolt.
