Of all the members with the VIS carbon fiber hood have had it crack or still in perfect condition. I am looking at getting a CF Hood and my sponsor is looking at the VIS hood cause they can get that one easily. I am also looking at the CF hood that Angie (redline max) is selling.

I'll sell you mine if you want. I have not liked it for a while. To me, it doesn't seem to fit right. $300 plus shipping and hood pins.

Let me talk to them and get back to you. Also do you know what color you painted your triple gauge pod. I got one and need to paint to match. If you have a color code it would be better.

 

I don't remember. It was a while back when I painted it. I will check though. I know that the first two attempts were way off though.

 

I think I was one of the 1st to get the VIS hood when it first came out.. Looong time ago..

I know e few guys with VIS hoods, and I havent seen any of them crack.... Ive been considering getting it, but Im gettiny the Grey CF , because I think the black CF hood doesnt really look that good to me on a white car. Stands out too much, IMHO....

I think I was the first one with the VIS CF invader style hood. Yes, I hav crack on the middle of the hood where latch's at........

 

I saw an M3 with a VIS gray hod at Stillen show, and its supposed to be ready in Jan for Max....noit sure about other colors... I guess they just add a color to the resin.

 

do you have a pic of the crack. Is it an top crack or does it go all the way through. Could it be the resin that cracked. could it be because it's the invader style. Has anybody with the OEM cracked there's. Kloogy you talking about the weaving right cause I was looking at there site and there making silver carbon fiber stuff now.

 

I'm not the only one with the crack on the same spot, PcGuru,deac have the same crack and they both have VIS OEM style........I think the crack formed cuz when put ur hood down and than u push it down by putting ur hand on the middle section of the hood by the latch.

 

what wouldbe the proper way to close it so it doesn't crack.

 

yeah I just talked to my sponsor and he also has seen it at SEMA. He's going to check with VIS and see exactly when it comes out.
