Missing the max

I watched some guy hit my 2002 GLE while I was parked, so it's in the shop for the next couple of days. I'm at my parents' now...they're nice enough to let me borrow one of their cars....it's an I4 2003 camry. that thing is a slug off the line. oh well...can't wait to get my car back...

i was suprised to see how QUIET the camry is though on the highway...makes my car seem so much less quality if one judged it from wind/road noise. one of the smoothest I4s I've ever driven as well. overall, i was rather impressed with the 19K commuter car. i realize that i gotta do something about my max's suspension quick...the GLE handles only marginally better than this LE camry with 15" hubcaps.

yeah thats attributed to the small tires and toyota/lexus=lesux/toyota. either way you will get a quiet car. i used to drive a gs300 for a little and at 80 its so much quieter than my max.

they're a very high quality car, just they're made for the average middle aged person who doesnt care about performance. They wont break down, ever. But they wont get ya there fast either

this 19K camry was almost as quiet as my friend's 540i. road and general ambient noise were similar...the camry had a little wind noise at 80mph, but not much. (wind noise in the bimmer was essentially non-existent...and we've driven it to 120 before). GS3s are very quiet as well. while the GS and 540 are a step or two up from maximas...funny that any car that i've been in that is in the max's rough price range is quieter (passat, camry, accord, A4 and TSX to name a few).

there is a tsb for that, but is it worth getting done and going through the hassle of the dealer saying it doesnt exist. yeah well throw some dynamat in your doors and that will help.

I dynamatted the whole car, though highly time comsuming and somewhat expensive, the car is much quieter at all speeds and road conditions...
