hit and run insurance question

Mother******, I went to a party on Sat. and now I have a hit and run dent that messed my entire driver side rear fenderwall. Its all creased in and the paint is rubbed off right to the front door. I just noticed this morning that this happened and I know it happened on sat. night because I got my car washed right before to show off the max, carefully examined it, and I garaged my car right after the party. I wished I noticed it so I could have filed a police report. is there anyway to get insurance to cover this?
also if anyone in queens, ny knows a good body shop preferably in the Bayside area, can I get their number. Stupid drunk people on sat. night. WTF. Ill post pics tomorrow.

You can still file a police report. It helps with your insurance if you do so. Good luck

If you have full coverage, it will cover all except your deductible.

At least in KY, your comprehensive coverage will take care of it. But you will have to pay the deductable. I'm sure it is the same in NY. A police report will make your insurance folks happy but will do no good in the long run.

you do not have to have a full coverage policy to be covered under hit and run. The "hit and run" protection is built-in into the liability. You may have to pay the deductable though...check w/your agent. Having a police report definitely help. Good luck.

i filed a police report and am going to call up the insurance people tomorrow. Pos drunks. It was an orange car cuz there is orange paint all over the side of the car. I hope the insurance people understand because I had a flying tire hit my car (I know but its true) on the highway and bend in my hood and bumper. The insurance people were like uh? wha? um?
