Bose Sub

Gotta quick question
Just bought my 03 max with the bose system
My sub has some good bass when the volume is down
but when you turn the volume up its like it cancels out
Is the sub bad or is that just a bose thing?
Is there anyway to get around it?
Thanks

Its a Bose thing. It turns down the bass so you won't get distorted sound.

I'm also interested in this subject...is there any way to improve the bass response on this Bose sub?

ie build an "enclosure" around the subwoofer etc

The Bose sub is free air so it's meant to be used without an enclosure(i think). I don't think theres a way to get around that feature, other then replacing the system.

by what i have noticed, most/all headunits loose bass after a certain volume level... on my alpine its at 16, my pioneer was i think 18... the only real way to fix it, buy a bigger more powerfull amp to give it more power without having to crank up the headunit... bose has never been impressing, they prolly put in a crappy amp anyways...
