Damn - Lightnings are pretty fast!
Cruising down the highway the other day I came up behind a Ford Lightning. As I approached he accelerated, and being in a good mood on a clear highway I floored it. Lightnings are obviously way faster, but I already had a speed advantage. So I passed him and was still clear at about 120, at which point I figured I probably had the advantage due to aerodynamics.
Nope - suddenly I see him rip past my passenger window before we both shut it down. Yikes, those motors are even sicker than I thought. Fun to see one run.

99-01(I think) run mid 14s.
And I know first hand as I had a run in with one while driving my old car.
Dodge Spirit RT.<----2.2 4cyl T3 224hp/217 14.6 stock
Anyway I raced one and we were neck and neck up to 95mph where he backed off. I wouldn't even try racing one with my 03 autotragic. And to boot the 05 Lightning are gonna have 500hp/500tq. SRT10 is gonna have 500hp/525tq. Very crazy.
I think we're gonna need that SSR turbo kit in order to try and keep up with those trucks.

Well it all depend upon what application the user wants to use either for. The Turbos have better efficiency and can be boosted higher than the SC but turbos also have a lot of low end drag whereas the sc doesn't.
If you are looking for big power go turbo and if you are looking for instantaneous power especially on the low end then obviously the sc is for you.
Most seem to pick turbo because of the big power and efficiency as well as other things you can do with them as far as controlling boost.

Anyway Maximax, those SVT Lightnings are NO JOKE. For a p/u truck, they have some serious topend; not to mention lowend and midrange. Apparently that 5.4L SC V8 gives that F150 body enough thrust to overcome part of its aerodynamic "disadvantage". And even on the twisties, the SVT Lightning is capabale of a .88g skidpad (though I'm not certain of the slalom speeds).
It would be SO COOL if Nissan put a blower on the VK56DE motor of the Titan!! I'd love to see how would compare with the SVT and SRT.

I've messed with cars before that I know I can't beat. i.e. My old 85 5.0 Tbird vs. lambo countach. I revved the crap out of my engine while sitting at the light just to annoy him; I even launched off the line and chirped the tires. the italian slicked bad cool guy didn't even blink and pulled from the light slower than my gram. I laughed. Anyway. I was gonna say something else but I'm
