I have a 2000 Max SE Auto, and i've started to notice that the car chugs on startup..it happens once every 5-6 starts...the engine rpms remain at 600rpm..but the needle starts to fluctuate (going up and down rapidly) and seems like the car is choking...have to step on the gas to make it stop or start driving. If i start driving,for a few minutes the car starts to jerk..but then it is okay.. could this be the O2 sensor?
this happens when the engine is cold AND when hot.

 

Correction..I meant to write 2001 Max SE..not 2000...
So no one with this problem?

 

I had the same problem. Just restart the ECU, cured the problem in my case
