If you have tint, how much did you pay for it and what percent is it? Also, i have 32% tint right now and i want it to make 20% soo what % tint should i put ontop of the 32?

 

Tint , on top of tint is a combination of .. and ghetto......
I have 20% in my rears, and 35% up front ....you can see pictures on my homepage .

Lets do the math: If you have 32% and put 50% on top of that, that would be the same as .32*.5, which equals 0.16%. You would have to get 64% tint to overlap your 32% in order to make a 20% combination. So thats settled. I got 30% and I paid around 150 for the rear sides and rear windshield. I did the fronts myself (which came out very good, if I do say so myself) for $10, the cost of the tint. If you wanna get 20% all around, just take off the current tint and redo all the windows, that'd be the best way to go. Pain in the butt, but best way. Otherwise, you can overlap the tint with like 50% or so, that'll work. Dunno how it will look or hold up though

Peel it off. Its just a film that sticks to the window. It comes off easy, getting the glue off the window is the difficult part

 

Make sure you don't just peel off the tint from the rear glass, your defroster lines might come right off with it. And theres no easy way to get that fixed. There's supposedly a safe method for getting the rear tint off without stripping the rear defroster. I think I read about it on www.tintdude.com. But I wouldn't do it myself if I were you. Find an installer who feels confident that he can do it.

 

steam it off. i was told that is one of the best ways to do it. then you don't even need to use any chemicals. just steam the car out for awhile, and peel it right off.

 

oh and if you steam the rear one, don't use ammonia. it can actually take out the defroster lines as well. i would just peel the sides, and let the pro deal with the back window. not worth it unless you wanna learn (it can be fun).

 

platinum 32%. I think you should pull it all off if you want to go darker

I would recommend you get your tint removed and redone. Right now I'm running 35% all around and paid $290 for it.

 

LLumar 30% front doors and 15% on the rest. $140....

 

18% formula1 ... 100% metallic tint for $200... all 5 windows...

 

I paid $175 and thats because I shopped for the most expensive and professional installer in my area. How'd you wind up paying $290?

They do, but I got mine done in long island. This aint a cheap neighborhood. But even if it was, $290 is double the price you'll find here.

 

Had mine done 4 days ago. 35% LLumar all around for $180.

 

Got mine done last week and I got 5% rear - 35% front.

I did my car a week ago. Went with 35% LLumar ATR on 5 windows for $179 with lifetime warranty.
If you are thinking about getting Llumar then don't get anything below ATR. Ttry to get ATR-Llumastar or Stealth<-better.

 

i have 15% quantum full mirror tint all the way around and it cost me about 180$. but it has a lifetime warenty against anything. my friend hit the window with a pair of pliars and it tore, so i took it out there the next day and they replaced it for free.
