PEOPLE WHO HAS FRANKENCAR with 2002-2003 Maximas

How did you fit that piece of twisted metal that came with the apexi filter so the filter can be held in place. The only thing that is holding up the filter is the midpipe which is connected rest of the engine. Is this normal because I keep on hearing vibrating noises and banging noises in the front of the car after install. I think the filter is hitting something. I tried using 3m cushion tape on the sides of the filter. It works for like 2 weeks, but im hearing it again .... did I install it wrong?? Thanks

I don't have Apexi filter, I have K&N but I connected that bracket to the strut tower.
I can take pics tonight and you can see how I positioned it.

Take the bracket that you got and hammer it a little into shape. When I first installed it, it was a little off. After a little hammering it fits perfectly and no more rattling. The rattling is normal without the bracket because the filter hits the car.

I just used a stereo back bracket, the one will all the holes in it, and cut it and twisted it as needed and bolted it to an existing threaded hole left when I took out the stock intake. The hole I used is on the strut tower and i used the rubber grommet thing so that the strap wouldn't scratch the paint when I bolted it down.

I don't think a bracket is needed, but it sure doesn't hurt to put one on.
