For alot cheaper than an SC, you can increase your power with other bolt-ons....intake, exahust, chip, UDP, etc.....SC will run you about $3000 or more from what I've seen...You can gain 20-30 extra hp for under a thousand bucks with NA bolt-ons..

BTW-I know we all like fast cars, but the s2000 is a light, 2-seat roadster with a great power/weight ratio, so it's not exactly shameful to get beaten by one....I know it's heresy to say it here, but the maxima is a touring/family sedan which happens to be pretty high performance also. If beating sportscars is your goal, perhaps you should get a light little sportscar, not a 3200-lb sedan.

you have a 2002. thought so which is why i made that comment. as far as i know there is no off the shelf forced induction for the 02-03 so it will have to be a custom job for a hefty price tag. stick to bolt ons.

I always thought of Maximas as pretty high performance cars that happened to be touring/family sedans...

Well since you can't afford to custom build a supercharger and I'm sure SSR Engineering's turbo will be too much also. You've got one thing you can do and it's only got three letters in it. N---O---S!!

We need a turbo. Man the sound of a frankencar intake with frankencar exhaust system with turbo... SWEET!

Agressive sound with blow off noise. more

if you have a 2k2, don't do anything too drastic until your warranty runs out....you may need the warranty one day, and NOS, SC, turbo will most likely void it....or why don't you sell your max and just buy somehting that's faster in the first place?

It is more fun to smoke other fast cars with a family sedan where they thought that they would smoke you off the line but turned out that you are 3 cars ahead in the end. I should've got a camcorder and taped down their facial expression, rolling down their window and asking "WTF do you have under the hood?"

with an SC/TC, your low end is still pretty close to stock. but once it hits ~3000rpm - it is time to claim another kill.

my recommendation - get an used 96/97 max, get an SC w/3.125 pulley, ACT clutch, Y pipe and cut offthe crushed section on the B pipe and replace it with uncrushed pipe. You will have no problem to smoke an S2000 with a 3000lb boosted maxima from dead stop or rolling.

Obviously I agree with you on that point...my comment was that he said he was low in the $$$ category, and here he's talking about SC, one of the most expensive mods you can do.....My point is that if you are low on $$$ you can get an older car (4th-gen) and heavily mod it for the price of a 5th gen, and then you can smoke that S2000..or you start small and inexpensive (intake/GAB, UPD, etc...)..Not that I'd give up my 2k for a 4th gen....but outright speed is not my top priority...

I'm quite sure Franken car intake will not be in your engine compartment if we had a turbo kit........

he could put a split intake...frankencar and a turbo....it would be a 1 1/2 turbo!

I am going to put a General Electic LM2500 gas turbine on the roof. Quarter mile times will drop to 3 seconds flat. Or maybe 2.9 if I keep the frankencar too!
