Front Wind Shield Cracked!

ok i was driving up to the mountains with my friends to go snowboarding and along the way a HUGE rock comes down and falls on my windshield and lease this big crack. How does that HAPPEN?! Anyways i was wondering if anyone knew how much it would take to replace the whole windshield or if i could just so how fix the 8 in x 8in crack on my passenger side? Can i take this to a local body shop (cheaper) or should i just take it to my dealership? I dont think this is under warranty. Any feedback would help. Thank you.

You insurance should/will take care of it. If you don't get it fixed soon, the damage will likely spread to other parts of the windshield. Windshields on unibody cars are part of the structural integrity and it can flex under certain conditions. The crack is too large to repair.

you can take it anywhere you like but the last place I'd go is the dealer...they'll have the highest price AND this isn't even close to a warranty issue... how could something hitting your car and damaging it be covered under warranty?

I'd also suggest you ask the glass repair place if they use original OEM glass. I had a window replaced once that wasn't OEM and it didn't fit exactly right and broke within months.
