I hate my seats!!!

I don't know about you other 5th gen owners but the seats in my 2k2 seam unbearable after a while. At first when I picked the car up I never really felt it but if I drive in the car for more than half an hour or hour my back starts to hurt. I've tried changing all of the positions and still nothing...just thought I'd vent since Im dissapointed that in a vehicle like the max the seats are so damn uncomfortable...

My longest trip so far (done mutliple times) is a 9 hour run from North Atlanta to South Miami. 670 miles of some of the least exciting roads in the east. I have found the Max seats to be very comfortable. I stop once or twice for gas, and afterwards I am just a little stiff, no butt-burn.
Of course it might be size that is the issue here, I am 5'7" 175, so I am not a big guy. It might be a great seat for smaller-framed people and not as good for larger-framed people.

I will admit I would like a better bolstered seat for fun driving. Has anyone put a different seat in their Maxima? Additionally any 4 or 5 point harnesses?

Most of the time my seat is comfortable. I made a trip to New Orleans yesterday and my back bothered me on the way there and back. I normally am comfortable in the seat. I tried different adjustments to no avail.

Yeah, for sure the CL sports seats are better but my maxima seats are so comfortable. Maybe you have a bad back!

The leather seats in mine are very supportive and comfortable and yes on long trips too. If you cant drive for more than 30-60 minutes before aches and pains set in I'd head to a chiropractor!! -- i think they are 8 way adjustable, so somthing should fit ya.
P.S. i'm 5'9" 190 lbs.http://www.backpain.com/index.html

I think it has got to do with height. I'm 6'1" and the only problem I have is finding a comortable position. I think the seats are good, but just can't find the right setting for me.

I'm the same height and have the same problem in my 2k. Used to hurt my back until i started slouching more in my seat. problem solved. would like some 350Z seats though.

350Z and G35C seats are awesome. They are amazing, I want one of those for my computer desk.

Personally, I think they are both roomy and comfortable although I can see how agressive drivers may want some more bolstering. Not as comfortable as some of the volvo or bmw seats i've been in but 1000% better than something like the G35 sedan (which for me were tight, uncomfortable and felt like I was strapped into a go-cart).

Never had any issues with my seats, but those seats in the G35C are sweet.

I like my seats too, have the front of the bottom all the way up, the back of the bottom all the way down and a slight tilt on the back, I love it....but I did come from an 88 Bronco so everything is comfortable. I"m 6'2" and 230lbs..

That blows the "bigger person=less comfortable" theory

Have you tried adjusting the lumbar support?

I took my car in to get the crank position sensor recall done and a few other tsb's and they lent me a 2003 altima. and i drove it for about 30 mins and i started getting really uncomfortable. I feel the max's seats are really comfortable. Just wish i didnt slide around in the leather on tight turns. Like soundmike said. try adjusting the lumbar support.

I give the seats a 7 out of 10. Our LS300 is a 10 on comfort, but has no bolstering. My last car was a saab 9-3... which I give a 3. For seats that are supposed to be "wonderful" they had little side support and we just plain uncomfortable.

Our seats seem pretty comfortable. I installed a Leatherseats.com kit and it had more padding, which I like even better. The stock SE seats might have been a little thin on padding for road trips...
