Lowering Springs for the front only?

Ok, I haven't seen this suggestion yet and I was wondering what all of you thought. The front fender gap is much larger than the rears. I don't want my car "slammed" but want mild handling improvements and looks. So, what do you guys think about me getting Maxspeed (since more affordable) and lowering only the front of my car (to 1" gap). I like the rear fender gap just fine (1").

Would this hurt my car? Anyone every try this?

i would do maxspeeds for sure, it would go ahead and do front and back because my back did not really drop that much barely 0.5 inch and it looks like an even drop but does not look like a krazee drop

I've been on that setup for more than a year. I think it's ghetto. lol. definately have to get better struts as the car is angled downward... more weight to the front. As for looks, it's barely noticeable. I think it looks as it should've looked coming outta the factory... but certainly other drops like tein(all around) are sweet.

My reason for not dropping the back: after dropping the front, rode around town to all the places i frequent. the resonator scrapes on a certain driveway. time to get a bpipe!

I rode around for a day with just the front lowered when I did my maxspeed/Gr2 setup. The car seemed to lean forward a lot. There is a bumpy bridge by my house and the max seemed to dive into every bump. I wouldn't just lower the front.

will it hurt the car? depends on who you ask. You're ultimately eliminating an Engineers month worth of work to match the spring rates to accomodate ride height, ride comfort and preferred handling.

Some fanatics will say that you should get matched springs because they will keep the car from driving oddly...

others will say, people lower cars all the time.

I would recommend getting matched springs... but, you're looking for a cheap alternative. Cheapest thing to do is, not worry about the ride height... or do it right the first time.

But wouldn't that same problem exist if you lowered both front and rears anyway?
