Ignition Coils for 5th Gen Max

Gents, I know this was an old issue that was posted, but mine just went out @78K Miles. Everyone and their mother wanted to charge like 600-700 beans for the job to swap all 6 (might as well if you're having issues as per SB NTB01-059). Anyways, I found a great link online with the coild at $53.64 a pop, and I spoke to the dealer in Gwinnette (N.E. Atlanta) and they match-honored the price. They also said that this job is no more than 1 hour worth of labor @ $90.00 hr., which makes the job total to $411.84 plus tax. Not too shabby compared to what I have seen some folks pay on the board.
The site is: http://www.nissanpart4u.com. I also found some other good deals in there. Good luck on those coils!

DaveB can ship them to you for just over $300 - and you can do them YOURSELF in under an hour and save $90. Hopefully you haven't gone to the dealer yet but....do it yourself!!!

If you have trouble getting the ornament cover on the front bank ("left-side" bank) off, buy a Craftsman socket for a 5/32" hex-head (allen head). Pop that baby on a ratchet and it comes off like a charm.

$411 is better than the $655 I was told I'd have to pay, but I ordered for $309 shipped from Dave B and did them in under an hour for all 6. It's really one of the easiest jobs you can do on the car. You need just some long nose pliers (or use a magnetic socket), and the correct socket, and a set of alan keys. I'd recommend doing them yourself!

I think it was more of a time and space to work on the car issue for me. I think I will go the dealer route, considering that if I don't, I would have to wait until next week sometime, and the car is driving like a 72 VW beetle. Driving me LOCO. Thanks for the feedback fellas!

I must agree, its one of the easiest things you can fix on your car, the only space you need is a few feet in fron and around the front side of your car to stand All you need timewise is an hour or so and your set, couple tools, little reading (not much) and viola.

Heh, which dealer is matching the price on coils? If so, I'll have to do that, never got around to getting them today.

-Gwinnette Place Nissan, but it seems like some of the boyus on the board can get'em cheaper. Read back a lil and you'll see. Anyways, the parts store is linked off of www.gwinnettplacenissan.com/ -luck
