Feel = Very Much like stock which is a plus. However on stock struts the ride is a bit bouncy.
Durability = I've only had my setup for a few weeks. But read through the post or search and you'll see a couple orgers with stock struts/maxspeeds going on for over a year now.

AGX users: What setting do you use, and with which springs?
For KYB AGX users:
What setting do you use, and with which springs?
What setting did you try first before settling on your current one?

vogtland springs
vogtland springs are mighty nice, handling is night and day from stock se springs. running on stock shocks f/r, noticed a 'tokico' brand stamp on the strut housing on the fronts but not the rears, seems fine so far. clean and fairly even drop.

im looking for a more comfortable ride...my AGXs are almost done i think
ride is really harsh with the B&G springs (these were supposed to be comparable to h&r's i think)

No lowering spring is going to ride better than stock, unless you take measures to regain the lost travel (shortened strut bodies, thinner strut mounts, relocated ball joints). GR2s are not that great so the ride will definitely be worse than stock when paired with lowering springs.

Won't you get the same effect cutting the bumpstops?
EDIT: read more, they did mention the whole stiffer spring and bump stop cut trail and error issue.

Well, Motivational at least used to make shortened front strut bodies; Mzmtg on the Org makes simple replacements for the rear strut mounts for 4th gen and probably 5th gens (gives you almost an inch of lost travel back); and there's a thread right now in the Suspension/Brakes forum about ball-joint extenders which will improve handling immensely if you have lowering springs.
Also check out the rest of that M3 site; it's got tons of good technical info that applies to most cars.

SECOND THOUGHTS: How many went back to stock??
I was curious as to how many members switched back to stock springs after initially changing over to lowering springs?
I've seen a lot of "Want to Buy" ads for stock springs (as well as requests for stock springs made to people parting out their cars), and I was wondering if many of those looking for stock springs had installed lowering springs and then decided that they wanted to go back to stock.
So, if you have made the switch back to stock, or are contemplating it, please chime in and briefly state why you decided to go back. Thanks in advance.

I'm still deciding on wether or not I want to go back to stock springs. My reasons being that NY streets are horrible, Pot holes+2 or more passengers=Horror. The maxima already drives like crap on bad streets stock, no better lowered. Damn the Friggin 4x4 front look. But Ride quality>*

Stuck to stock and glad I did.
I guess that I got really used to the cushy ride of stock springs and struts because I installed KYB AGX's today, set them to 2 and 4, and I thought my fillings would fall out after the ride. And I'm using them with the original stock springs!
I've got a bad back, so I really do need the cushioning.
I'm glad that I did not add lowering springs -- that really would have lowered the boom on me. Dialed the AGX's back to 1 & 2, and the ride now feels supportive but not stiff.

Illumina strut length?
Does anybody know if Tokico Illuminas are shorter than OEM? The Tokico HP shocks are the same as OEM and don't work well with shorter springs, even with the bump stops trimmed way back (frequent bottoming). I have these shocks and Eibach springs, a crappy setup, and I'd like to go to Illuminas if I can confirm the length is shorter than OEM. Stillen has been less than helpful on this.
#505
If you are bottoming out, don't cut your bump stops, that makes bottoming out a lot harsher. FWIW, I measured the exposed piston length of my Illuminas (4th gen) when off the car and I think it was 8.5 inches.

I have H&Rs all around but Im getting rid of the fronts and putting Htechs there instead. I just dont like the cosmetic factor when it comes to H&Rs...but when it comes to the ride and handling, I LOVE them
#509
I just bought an 02 max with under 50K miles a month ago and I love it. I took the advice of another forum member and only replaced the front Springs with H&R. Cosmetically the car looks better (because it isn't jack-up in the front anymore) and it still rides the same.

im riding h&r front and h tech rear on 3/3 illuminas and progress rsb.. the handling is absolutely amazing, crisp steer-in and very little roll through a fast corner. i couldnt be happier with the setup, pics are up on the other suspension forums. im never going back to stock

The JDM's "coilovers" look like they were made in China. You should not cheap out on suspension stuff. When the car is at a standstill, it may look "cool," but it won't be "cool" when your car will be bouncing after every little bump in the road.

Progress Springs (1.7 front 1.5 front.. about) w/ Tokico Illuminas. while sitting on 18x8 G35 coupe OEM rims wrapped in 235/40/18 Toyo's... Do you think i would experience any Rubbing issues even with a full car?

anyone have any advice on lowering springs? i was looking at getting Teins but have read bad reviews on them being too soft and the front end bottoms out. not looking to go very low just something to make it handle better and have a more aggressive look.
