i just ordered some H-techs from the SWA group deal and i already have some H&R. i will be putting the h-tech on the front and H&R on the rear to give me an even drop rather than having one end higher or lower.

Hey all, I have checked the pics of everyone who posted of having Maxspeed springs. I want more pics of drop with them and some feedback if possible, considering getting them because I want lower drop and improved handling but want to keep the ride comfort near to stock.

Thanks in advance.

riding on progress springs with stock struts.. I think my struts blew im not sure or something is loose coming from the back left side trunk area. I'm wondering if i put on the tokico illuminas would they blow? I'm not too familiar with struts. I' guessing if i put on tokicos probably over time 20-30 they'll blow, so my question is will the Illuminas last longer 30-40k? 60k and up? What do you guys think.. (my bad for whoring this thread.)

Ground Controll 500lbs springs front and 400lbs springs rear on Koni Yellows, absolutely worst ride ever, I hate driving the car. Makes my 11 year old G20 stock suspension feel like a race car- Skyline derrived suspension after all

Maxspeeds in the rear on 4th gen modded KYB AGX,
stock 4th gen springs in front on 5th gen struts

I was on Ground Controls and blew one strut.. just got a new AGX in the mail and will install Maxspeeds all around on AGXs saturday..

if they aren't low enough, ( they seem to be quite high right now.. ) i will get H-Techs

i suggest you take those things out ASAP before you blow your struts.. i already killed one

terrible design, almost unsafe and harmful to the car..

Suspension Set Up

H&R Springs combined with KYB GR2s. Recently installed. Ride is awesome. Not too harsh and not too floaty. I'm Happy!

I blew out 6 sets of front shocks due to poor Koni design- the strut insert body rusts out in the housing of the OE shock that U gut out to install the insert. Then it starts to leak out fluid, and shock is blown ASAP. My ear ones are on their last legs, I don't know if I wanna warranty the shocks last time and sell them as new, for cheaper price. I'm switching to JIC Magic.

How's the ride on those teins compared to other springs.

I am thinking about getting the tein s-techs with the illuminas. So if the ride was too bone jarring then I could soften up the shocks some, right? Any longer term problems with the s-techs? What about the handling?

everytime i visit LA i think the roads in NYC are perfect to the roads in LA. you dont know how bad they have it. NYC is tolerable on a lowered car, not in LA though

I've got stock right now, but plan on upgrading to illuminas and not sure which springs. I'm looking for above all, handling improvement. Some drop would be nice, but that will happen with all aftermarket springs. Ride comfort is secondary to handling performance though. Any suggestions with reasons would be welcome. Just PM me. Thanks.

fyi: the maxspeeds w/ the factory struts seemed to be considerably lower on my 2k than on my 2k2 with the illuminas. the maxspeeds dropped me 2k 1.75 front and 1.6 rear, and on my 2k2 w/ illuminas, i am lucky if there is an inch...some places only .5 drop. check my cardomain page and look at page one of the 2k after the springs were on, and then look at pg 3+4 of my 2k2 with measurments at the fender...26 is the lowest point. the weird thing is that the drop wasn't the same on lf and rf and rr and lr. ride was very stock with the ms and factory, but if you are looking for handling improvement and comfort, the illuminas are the way to go. i would personally choose other springs for these struts...maybe tein s tech. my .02

Huh? They don't make the Sportline springs for Maximas. Just the Pro-Kit.

I'm getting my maxspeeds installed as I type. Its at the shop. I'm going to ride the stock struts and shocks for a while until I decide what to go with. A lot of people seem to be happy with the maxspeeds so that's my first choice.
What struts/shocks should I go with next?

I have a question, with my 4th gen max people were saying you shouldn't pair certain springs like eibach's with struts like the blues or the kr-2's cause they are stiff and will break the struts. Is this true? If so what combos should i stay away from?

Thanks
