Agreed. It's a good replacement for the stock paper air filter but it doesn't seem to flow as well as the K&N Panel Filter. On the other hand, I'd suspect the Amsoil does a better job of filtering than the K&N.

I'm going to keep my Amsoil air filter. I'll use it on my wife's 2K GXE.

i wrote an e-mail to Amsoil but have'nt heard back yet. I am not gonna use it because my car was not happy at all with it in. I'm gonna send mine in for a credit. I'll probably just keep the stock one because some people have said that the K&N lets to much dirt and oil in. I still have a K&N filter cone and flange off my old '94 SE...hmmm wonder if i could use it some how

I just got one yesterday and installed

it. It seems just as good in air flow as the K@N that I replaced. My car is a 99 SE.

I've got a JWT pop charger for sale built for a 5th gen. Appears the intake is slightly different on each gen. I removed it and wen't for the OSCAI... I wanted a more stock look under the hood. Let me know if you're interested.

silvermax: Could it be that it was installed

the other way? The foam side should be in the in coming air, the metal side should be going to the throttle body

I don't believe that's correct, stjohnr. The filter has to fit completely inside the tray. I believe the only possible orientation that permits that is with the filter element toward the throttle body and the metal side toward the air supply. Check for yourself and see if I'm right.
