rear sway bar question

rear sway bar question

what is the difference btwn the rear sway bars that custom maxima sells( the progressive rear sway) and the one that stillen or soutnwestauto sells( the adjustable rear sway bar)? are they the same? different? They sure are priced differently. thanks for the help

different. the stillen one is adjustable and the bar is thicker. you can adjust the position of the bar.

another difference: Stillen about $250, Progress/Addco/Cattman are about half that.

That said, I have the Stillen and love it...install is a little different - Stillen doesn't have u-bolts around the actual axle...just attaches to trailing arms of rear suspension and nowhere else...install is easy and quick (under 1 hr.)....can't speak for the other type.

As was pointed out in a few other threads, all three are actually adjustable. I just got through with my Progress install a few days ago, took about an hour (taking my time), but due to the large extra strength side brackets, adjustment is not too straight forward. I got a great deal, so, i'm not complaining. But the Addco looks better as far as install (between Addco and Progress). No experience with Stillen, but, they do cost more.
