frankencar exhaust install...

well i just installed it and it took me about 45 minutes with the help from a friend. and it only took a week to arrive...WOW!!! ANYWAY..great looking exhaust, almost as quiet as stock..just a little deeper sound which is exactly what i wanted. i had no problems at all with the install. fit perfect. I HAVE A FEW PICS ON MY CAR DOMAIN SITE.

Glad to hear the good results. Any performance gains? Sound clips would be great too... I'd love to hear it!

nice to hear no fitment problems. I met up with steve from frankencar a couple weeks ago and picked up one of their b pipes to match with my stillen rear section. Its not gonna go on until spring comes tho. Hopefully my install will be problem free. Its a really nice looking pipe.

Did you use jack stands to install it? I got mine about two weeks ago, needs to be isntalled. muffler shops want around $80 to install it, ya, right! Thinking about doing it myself.

When ever working under your car I would highly recommend using jack stands.

you will have to call cattman and order the y-pipe...they have it...and i used a lift to install it...yes it is angled slightly because it is not a straight though exhaust.

Do you have issue w/the muffler hitting the rear frame when the car hits a bump? I noticed that the stock hanger is too soft to support the muffler and doesn't control the bouncing/vibration of the muffler too well. I have to modify the existing hanger (stiffen up w/clamps) until I can find a better or stronger rubber hanger.

FYI: You can use the clamp (2-given) from the installation kit to wrap it around the left rubber hanger and adjust to align the muffler straight.

Let me ask ya'll a question???? Why on frankencar web site they show 2 mufflers. One muffler looks like a stock 2k2 but just in chome, and the other looks like a magnaflow. When I order my catback they better not give me that CHOME 2k2 muffler, or we going to have BEEF.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the clamps did help keep the muffler from hitting the heat shield...that exhaust is not light...i am going to buy 2 more clamps just to make sure it is nice and tight. and Ghase...the exhaust does look a lot bigger in person

I've been waiting on my intake since 23 Dec. I haven't heard anything at all. Not even an email from them in regards to the order. I can't get in touch with anyone over the phone either. They've recieved about an email a week from me as well. I'm kinda wondering what the next step is...

I had the catback on my car for awhile and had posted a thread before. Btw, I have no complain so far w/the quality of the product. Below is my suggestion to you or those that are considered getting this catback if encountered the rattling/banging noises at the muffler section after installation:

Wrap the hose clamp around the rubber hanger at the outer right side of the muffler, at the end where the b-pipe and the muffler are connected. Screw the hose clamp up tight emcompassing the hanger. Then test drive the car and adjust the clamp until you hear no strange noises when driving or hitting bumps on the road. Also, the stock hanger at/next to the right side of the dual tip is too soft for this stainless steel muffler (quite heavy). The existing rubber hanger allow too much vertical rebounce and this undamped movement causes the muffler to hit the heatshield or the rear metal frame. The best solution I'd found is to stiffen/re-enforce the rubber hanger w/2-smaller hose clamps by wrap them horizontally around the hanger. This will help to control the vertical movement or to increase the damping rate for the rubber hanger. In addition, you can shift or adjust the muffler with a crowbar to avoid the side of it from touching the heatshield.

Hope this help!
