springs and struts

I just read the springs thread, now I want to know which setup won't have me bouncing all over the place like I'm in my friends civic. I feel like I have to wear a helmet to protect my head when I'm in that car. I want a hot suspension, but I don't want it to be bouncey and ruff. I live in Chicago and the roads aren't the best, and I have a long drive to work so I need some comfort, but also want the performance when I need it.

Please help getting rims and and don't have to have the big wheel gap.

Tokico Illuminas adjustables or Koni adjustable struts with Eibach or H&R springs are the best performance struts and springs availible. I have illumina/eibachs and I posted a thread about them a while ago but i cant find it. You must have missed all the suspension threads about a month back.

EDIT: found it

Theres tons of suspension info in this thread. There are pics of the drop and the adjuster ***** too.

If by "hot suspension" you mean low, then Progress Tech offers about the lowest drop without seriously degrading the ride. If the H&R or Eibach drop is low enough for you, they offer the best performance.

S-techs are too low to be used in chicago area IMO

H-techs should be less drop and more comfort

Here are some popular springs and their associated drops. As a general rule of thumb, a lower drop = poorer ride. Again, I say general - I understand spring rates can effect this - so please don't flame.

Eibach: 1.3F 1.0R
Progress: 1.7F 1.5R
H&R: 1.4F 1.3R
Sprint: 1.8F 1.8R
Maxspeed: 1.4F 1.3R
Tein H-Tech: 1.6F 1.0R

For struts, Go illumina, Koni, or AGX so you can adjust them to your liking.
