slipping like crazy...reving up in between gear changes etc etc. But I think I abused my car more than about anyone on here racing it. Poor automatic

I noticed something weird today with my car. Not sure if it's related to the headers but that is the only recent change to my car.

I noticed today that while I'm cruising at highway speeds (approx 70 mph, 2500 rpms) and I let off the gas my rpms don't drop. They only very slowly drift downwards as my car slows. Anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

agreed, you might just notice it now because you have the headers

Thanks for the replies. I feel better. I think you're right. I'm probably just notice it now because of the increased sound level.

I received the HotShot Headers from Southwest Autoworks on Monday. I plan on installing them this weekend. I am just waiting on the 2 1/2" B pipe with resonator from Warpspeed. While speaking with Dallas, he said I should look into placing the O2 sensors back in the original location as 03BLKSETE did instead of installing in the B pipe. Dallas said every catalytic converter rep he has spoken to insisted that the O2 sensor be installed in original locations or closer to the motor. Dallas was aware that the precats were coming out with the headers going in, but still suggested placing the O2 sensors in the new headers Y pipe. Anyone have any valid input? Do you think Dallas is speaking from little or no experience or knowledge?

I am curious about this now. Hotshot - the makers of the headers, tell us to put o2 sensors behind the cat. Several other people have said they think they should go in the same area as the stock location. I'm still leaning toward Hotshot's recommendations, since they made the part.

03BlkSETE - any cel yet?

I would imagine if the original 02 sensors come after a cat, it would be prudent to put the new 02 sensors behind a cat...since the headers remove the pre-cats, it would make sense to now move them behind the big cat. But I have no idea.

It would be nice if they figured this stuff out before they started selling them to the public!!!

Any dyno's yet? I can't wait any longeR! Also, any word on the next batch yet?

I'm going to install the O2 sensors in the stock B pipe. This way I can run the headers with the stock exhaust to compare any gains. If 03BLKSETE continues to run his set up with the O2 sensors in the headers Y pipe and then there are those of us who have them installed in the B pipe, we can get a real world comparison. Hopefully we can determine for OURSELVES which is the best location. I have Dallas sending me two more bungs with the new B pipe I ordered. I can then put them in the new B pipe or in the headers Y pipe.

ummm, if your O2 sensors don't work, then you need to do something about it. you're losing all kinds of gas mileage and power.

the mechanic didn't give you any BS either.
the OBDII cars have O2 sensors at the engine and after the cat(s). 'm not sure how many you have on the ones with precats, but if you run a straight pipe, you WILL have CEL lights come on.
