Painting 03 Grill

Hey guys, I have a super black 03. I was thinking about painting my stock front grille body color. I was wondering how I would go about doing this, specifically, what kind of paint and where to get it, and what you have to do to prep the stock grille for painting.

Thanks!

take it to a body shop or you will probably never get the paint to match right.

Here's a pic if my 2K2 painted grille

Did it myself. Washed it good with Dawn. Primed with gray. Then about 6 or 7 light coats of black. I got an exact color match from a local paint store that specializes in auto paint. I just gave them the paint code and they matched the factory color. Then I painted the emblem with Testor's Boyd's Pearl Smoke Grey.

Thanks, JoeMaxx. I'm not a pro painter by any means. I just took my time and it turned out pretty good.

I did my grill too. IMO it looks better when matched to the body color. I did not get a perfect match of color, it looks perfect from about 6 feet away or more. That was good enough for me. I might re-do it with more perfectly matched paint.

I also have a question regarding painting my lower grill: How do I get it off? I havent inspected it, but on quick glance I didnt notice any screws... any tips?
