2002 Maxima Concerns/Questions
2002 Maxima Concerns/Questions
1) I have a 2002 Maxima SE. A few weeks ago I slammed on my brakes and the area around the front wheels vibrated violently. I only had this occur about 2 or 3 times and only when braking very hard.
2) When I make sharp turns and brake at the same time (at higher speeds), I feel like the brake pedal is rubbing up against something.
3) When hitting small bumps on the road my steering wheel seems to jerk to one side, the jerking isnt that violent that I feel I will lose control of the vehicle, but I dont know if this is "normal".
Thanks in advance.

No 1. I've heard this so many times. This is ABS, it is supposed to do that. ABS quickly breaks/unbreaks the tires to prevent you from sliding on melted rubber.
No 2. ??? Sorry don't know
No 3. Are both tires hitting the bump at the same time, or at different times?

3) The suspension is tuned so the driver gets a lot of feedback from the road. The SE suspension is quite harsh, when compared to other import sedan's, so any irregularities in the road, you will feel. One of the drawbacks of the SE I suppose, but you should be fine.
Make sure the tires aren't overinflated, as this may be the cause you are getting as much road defects intruding into the psgr cabin.
Having overinflated (or underinflated) can adversely affect ride quality, fuel economy, tire wear.
