Horns and Why

One of the very few things that I dont't like about my MAX is the wussy sounding stock horn. Any recommendations and who likes what and why and any install info. Thanks

bsetiawan is selling sets of Hella supertone horns for $60 shipped (they sell online for about $75)...I just ordered mine. I've heard them and they are much stronger than the wuss-sounding stock horn. I'm embarrassed to even honk at anybody with my OEM horn.

PM bsetiawan, I think he has 4 or 5 sets left.

I think the mounting positions are a little different for the 2k-2k1...one is behind the grill and the other is by the washer fluid reservoir...looks nice tho polo, can't wait to get mine!

are those completely sealed? I remember someone talking about mounting them just like that and they filled with water and rusted/corroded and fizzled out.

How many times do you actually use your horn? I probably use 2 or 3 times in a year... can't justify modding something that I almost never use. That's just me.

The Hellas are sealed and weatherproof. It will not be affected with by water like the Fiamm's trumpet shaped.

yeah i didnt like that fact. so i moved the horn that was in the engine bay up front just like the 2K2+ horn placement. just use the existing braket and bolt and there is already a spot where you can screw it into. you also have to extend the wire.

just think....1 time out of 3.......you have to use that horn to get a semi or a car out of your way, you start honking your horn but they cant hear it. next thing you know you are trying to avoid them and you hit somebody else. almost happened to me so i spent the $60 to get the better horns!
