Exhaust system

It seems like the exhaust is built up into several pieces. these pieces can be bought aftermarket, and usually comes with a performance upgrade. is there any modification to fit and if there is, can the home mechanic manage?

the largest gains to be found in your 2k1 will be in the y pipe. there are a few hidden horses in the b pipe but the y pipe will be your best bang for the buck. check out cattman.com, warpspeedperformance.com and stillen.com for some popular y pipes. they can be performed by a home mechanic but having access to a lift and air tools sure makes it go quicker.

basically, access to the underside of the vehicle severely increase install time?

is the b pipe worth the upgrade as well as the catback system, given any brand?

are all the pieces of the exhuast remove and replace? meaning there is NO welding or modifying of any kind, relatively speaking?

just being on your back while trying to get off bolts that have been on for a couple of years just is not fun to me. luckily, i had access to a lift and air tools both times it was installed. it was just recently taken off by SR20DEN to cut and reweld a new flex section.
as far as the catback goes, i really like our oem muffler. they flow pretty good for N/A and are not loud. replacing the muffler typically only yields 1-3hp. replacing the b pipe will yield 3-6. both the y pipe and b pipe are straight bolt up but you may have to make a hanger for the b pipe.
