Uh oh........SE's light came on this morning!

So my SE's light came on this morning on the way to work, and it hasn't gone off since then. Not sure if the MAF blew or not (really hope it didn't!), altho I've read that the tell-tale signs of a blown MAF are stalling, sluggish performance, and the RPM's don't go past 3000 (or is it under?).....which, in this case, aren't happening. But the RPM's I've noticed, definetly drop down somewhat quicker than usual.

By any chance, does anyone know off hand if it could be like an o2 sensor or knock sensor or something?

Should I take the car to autozone to have the codes read?

definetly go to Autozone and get the code pulled for free and continue from there. you don't want to go to a $tealership and have them pull it for $100...

Is your gas cap tight? A loose one will light the ses.

ok, update, a day after i tightened my gas cap and the SE's light went off, it went back on again!

Went back to autozone and they pulled a code 455, evaporative emissions control leak (large), which the service rep said seems to be linked to something with my catalitic converter, a bad fuel filter, or using bad gas? So by deductive reasoning, I know I don't use bad or cheap gas, I only have an HKS rear section so I don't know if it could be related to that affecting the cat converter, and if it is a bad fuel filter, it could explain why I'm getting crappy gas mileage, but in any case, does anyone know off hand what this code could be related to?

Evaporative emissions control leak is the gas cap, or some other part of the evap system - hoses and fittings between the tank, charcoal cannister and engine. The system sucks the fumes from the top of the tank through a condenser and into the engine. It's an air leak in that system that gives the code - the gas cap is the most common. It has nothing to do wit fuel quality, fuel pump, maf, etc., but could also be a vacuum leak as the engine vacuum runs the system.
