OT: Replace my 2k1 SE with G35 ??

Hi all:

I've been away for a while ....

Really like the G35 ( sedan - need space for people ).

Any opinions on trading the max for the G35 ?

I plan to get a stick (6 sp) as well -- I hope I won't regret it ( my Max is auto ).

Sorry for this OT post - but this place is the best to get inputs from a lot of smart people !

Ditto. But you could upgrade to a 2k2-3 max if you just want something newer, faster.....

Max faster? This is a no-brainer! I like my 2k i30 but, it's not as fast as the loaner g35 I've been having. FWD vs. RWD/AWD? I know my next car will never be a FWD, it's dynamics are terrible. If you want the G35 for more room, then consider something else. It's smaller than my i30. I would recommend the Lexus GS 430, 400, or 300.

G35? for MAX?

wow G35 for max? maybe not i've heard that the G35 for the price it's worth is north worth even looking at...G35 has some recall problems as well as a maxima but for the price id rather just stick to if you have a maxima keep it. Not worth the hassale to buy a $35+thousand dollar car and find out that it has problems. It just isn't worth it

i got mine for 32 loaded! i have talked to fellow owners and they have had no problems. Infiniti's service is much much better than crappy nissans!

Get the G35. If this car is an option for you, I say do it. Maximas are great cars but if I had the dough, I wouldn't be in one.

It has a VQ35... hmmmmm

Ask 2kseman... he had a 2000 manny and just got a g35 sedan auto. He told me he loves his car but misses his max (had y pipe, pulley, b pipe, mid pipe, jet chip, eibachs).

given the choice between a G35 and E55 AMG, I'll take the E55. Of course the real question is: can I afford it and/or is it worth it? (by the way, that's no...not yet!)

That's a hard decision. Especially with the recent Car and Driver mag rating the 6MT G35 sedan the best sports sedan in the $30-$40K price range even above their beloved BMW.

I think it comes down to what you're willing to pay and what you can afford. But if you are willing to pay the increased monthly bill as well as the slightly increased monthly insurance rate...then I say go for it.

Thanks !

Folks :

Thanks for your replies .... yeah I've been saving up some dough - so I think I can barely manage the G35
Hopefully insurance shouldn't be much higher than it is now !

I primarily want to get it for the 6 speed -- I hope this is a good stick to have - I've driven a stick long back - maybe 5 yrs or so back - hopefully I'll remember enough of it !

Only bad thing is that the stick comes only with Leather trims - am not a big leather fan ... I can never understand some of the packages that come in cars anyways
