Sylvania vs PIAA bulbs for headlight ?

PIAA - Xtreme white with XTRA technology
-----
Twin Pack: PIA15760
Bulb Type: H4
Wattage: 60/55w = 135/125w
4200K low beam,
3950K high beam

Above is the spec from PIAA site, 4200k low beam ? that is just as white as HIDs ? I wonder how true can that be.

For Sylvania Silverstar, it is saying that it could offer up to 4000k. Anyone has compare the difference between PIAA Xtrreme white ans Sylvania silverstar ?

I don't understand how they can claim these bulbs go up to 4000k, that sounds a bit too good to be true for the price, I would say.

Any inputs ?

Thanks.

I have PIAA Super Plasma GT-X, and they are 5000K.
Though HID technology and halogen bulbs are different and uses different concepts. So color temperature isnt the only factor to consider.

The big difference with the H4's and HID's is the intensity. The color of my lights match HIDs, but the strength of mine look like candles next to a light house.

I have the Xtreme White that you've listed, it is very noticably whiter and brighter with a slight blue tint... never compared to the silverstars, but regardless of the temperature listed it can never compared to true HID

PIAAs all the way. The silverstars are almost as good. They emit light straight forward instead of to the sides forward.

PIAA's are sweet, but they don't really give your headlights the "custom," "bad-@$$" look that really sets your car apart. Might I suggest some Demon Eyes from Umnitza? I have them and I adore them... I get so many looks!
Go to www.umnitza.com and check them out... if you order, tell them jlevi sent you... they'll know you are a VIP

Hence, you cant install DDEs onto 2000-2001 models. Different headlight housing / reflector assembly.

Hey jlevi, check out the NorCal section of the forum. And welcome to the board.
