I took my 03 to the dealership to have it checked out for brake shudder, wind noise and a little hesitation, here's what they said:

Your Throttle Body is dirty $190 to clean it...
Your rotors are warped so we'll replace them under warranty...
Your brake pads are getting low so we recommend replacement $290 to do those...
Oh and your weatherstripping is in tact so there's nothing wrong with it.

So needless to say I will be doing my rotors this weekend. As far as cleaning the throttle body, what is involved and can I do it by myself?
I have been working on all my previous cars by myself and so I have a basic knowledge of how to do it but If its too involved I do have a friend that is a master nissan mechanic so he could do it for me, but I would rather do it myself, if at all possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

$290 for pads??? wtf....are they gold plated??

 

$290 for pads...hmmm must be 90% labor...did they have a one armed mechanic???

 

The prices do not surprise me. What does surprise me is that they will replace the rotors under warranty! That is unheard of.

I doubt the throttle body needs cleaning so soon. You're being seriously ripped off. let them replace the rotors under warranty. Brake pads should be replaced for around 80 bucks including labor.
