I just shut off my car, opened the door and heard something that confused me. There was a sound like a camera clicking (you know when the film winds on a fast speed camera). It made this sound for at least 3 seconds and about 6-7 clicks. Does it always do this, and I have just not payed any attention, or is there something wrong. I have turned the car off and back on all day today and have heard that sound each time. Any ideas?

I have a GXE auto (2000) with the stock air filter (had the K&N but the idle got irradic all of a sudden and I put the stock back in-no problems now!)

Thanks,

John

I believe that is a relay switching when you open the doors. If you leave your lights on and turn the engine off, when you open the door, the lights will go off. The relay probably controls this. Also, your sunroof and pwr windows are active for 10 minutes after you shut the engine off. Once you open the door, they are no longer powered. The relay or switch comes into play here also.

No, I'm not being picky, just didn't know what was going on! Thought I was back on the runway with all the darn photographers in my face again. I moved to KY to get away from all them! I do have a purty smile though

Oh sorry I actually look like

And I've been in a Roll's and those things aren't too quiet but they do ride a little to smooth...

I think it's just a matter of being very observant. Most people don't notice things about their cars. We, on the other hand, are all nuts when it comes to our cars

I've heard that, too. It caught my attention because it comes from the engine compartment and not the interior of the vehicle.

I've heard a noise like that from my engine.. I always figured it was the exhaust cooling or something... a tick tick tick sound.

Its a bomb!!!

My car seems like it makes all kinds of funny noises when it's turned off with the hood open.

Naw ... U're all wrong ... Your Max is sending Encoded messages to the Officials, informing them of where U are!!!

Thus when U turn off the car and get out ... the "MAN" already knows where to ARREST YOUR A$$!!!

We are ALL being watched!!!
