please help with steering issue

hey all, sorry but the search function doesn't work again, plus i've tried to find this issue and couldn't before when it did work.

anyway, here's the issue that i'm having. my car will continue to steer to the right no matter what the issue is. i've had it aligned 3 times now within a month. after alignment, it works fine for probably a day or two, but then will continue to pull to the right. the issue is that it pulls really hard. i've had tires plus take a look at it and there definately is a problem, but they don't know what it is. i've brought it to the dealership and after them "taking" some money from me, they still can't find out what the problem is.

please help with this situation. it's very annoying that a '03 with 24k miles on it is doing this. the dealership mentioned "separation" in the tires, but tires plus said that they could find anything. even when i went in there and said that i'm buying new tires. the guy is was very knowledgable and so i don't think that he's willing to lose commission over nothing.

i did change the brakes on my car the other day and noticed that my right front was very loose when "rotating" or moving it forwards and backwards. probably an inch leway both ways. not side to side, but front and back. perhaps this will help in the diagnosis.

sorry for the long post, but i could really use some help in this matter. perhaps even a nissan 1-800 # is going to be the final solution. thanks again.

Is your car a rebuild? Has it been in an front impact accident? If it has, who ever fixed it probably didn't do such a good job. Might want to check on that.

I've got the same thing going on. Been noticing it for a couple months now, and don't know the cause it. It is annoying and it's always to the right. I have 22k miles and have not had an allignment yet nor the brakes serviced. What your describing sounds like wheel bearings maybe, I remember reading somewhere on here about the bearings going out on some 02-03's already, that might be it.

hmmm, could very well be. keep in touch will ya and let me know if you figure out anything. it's really annoying when one still owes $25k for a car that's already damaged and "can't" be fixed...

My other car used to pull to the right all the time. I balanced my wheels and got a wheel alignment. Problem went away.

Maybe they are not tightening the bolts hard enough after alignment. I've heard of that before too.

how many Maxima forums did you post this on? I just replied to yours (I think) on nissanforums.com

Basically,
If you dealer has tried to service your Maxima more than 4 times, seek a lemon law attorney and get your money back and that way you can start over

didn't even know there was a nissanforums.com. but thx for the lead on that one. about this 4 times thing, i doubt that i would get a "new" car because my steering is bad. not that i'm doubting you, i just think that it's highly unlikely. although if you have any advice on how to do this, that would be greatly appreciated...

Oh I forgot. I got an alignment after changing my springs and my car still pulls to the right. Alignment shop told me it was my tires. I'll be putting my summer rims and see if my car still pulls. Could be a tire problem.
