Belts

I got a squeal from my belt and it needs to be changed, but looking into the engine compartment there is only about an inch to get your hand in there.

Any hints?????

how many miles on your car?

Try belt conditioner for temporary solution to noise.

I have the same thing...this was the car's first winter with me and noticed that when it's cold...does that mean the belt has to be changed soon or just tightened?

$30 for belt and labor? That's pretty good deal. $10 - $15 for belt last time I bought. Can't remember exactly.

My friend had that. We went to autozone, asked about it, they told us to get some belt dressing. It cost 3 bucks so we did. Sprayed on the rollers, and under the belt - no more squeaking. Here's your answer - get belt dressing.

That hopefully is all unless there is some cracking signs on your belts. When mine was noisy I sprayed WD40 and I had about 70K.

Well having used that conditioner before i would much rather replace it.
Does it have to be done from underneither the car? What is the trick to getting in there and taking it off?
