I plan on replacing my entire Bose setup this spring...new head unit, speakers, subwoofer and tweeters. For those that have done this...is it necessary to buy this center console piece? On the site it says, "Some customers, when replacing their BOSE system, will use this assembly to install with an aftermarket head unit."

Also, what dash kit did you guys use? I have a TE so I'm hoping to find something that comes close to matching. Thanks for any input.
